I know this is a bit far out but I might try to get this page going again.

Reason?
I am suffering a slow creative death at work.
And I can't quit my job. Yet.
And this page has over 17 thousand hits for some reason (plus the close to 10 thousand I lost with the old counter). People have been stopping by.
On top of that I can't sleep so I might as well do something productive.

These are strange times in world history.
There are people in power that are cleaning house.
Not the first time in history this happens and probably not the last. It is the first time in my history it is happening.
These are creative times that get me all excited because cleaning house leaves room for change.

The US has Obama and Iceland has Johanna.
The first colored US presidend, and the first female, openly gay Icelandic prime minister. His first job in office was to start closing down Guantanamo and one of her first jobs was to start working on getting one of the most corrupt Icelandic politician out of the Icelandic National Bank.
It is too good not to follow up on.

People all over the world are loosing their jobs.
So I am assuming that this is not the time to think: "Hey, my job really bores me to death."
Working is kind of a necessity if I want to keep eating and having a roof over my head. Saying as my job is a desired position for many, they won't have a problem filling it. I, on the other hand, might not get another job.
Not really feeling room for a change.
But maybe, slowly, feeling a creative burst coming on.

It is not only the fact that I have been at this workplace for over a year now and am getting restless (a personal record) it is the fact that I have learned everything there is to learn in that place and there is no new developement in sight. I am hired to answer the phones and make the coffee and you don't get promoted from that at my current work place.
I had this job at another time, when I was 14.
Back then I didn't have 6 years university education.
Back then got promoted.

I am lucky to have a job.
I am lucky to have a fancy job that doesn't require too much of me. And the hours are good. It doesn't pay well, but hell, I am getting paid.

On the other hand, my job is boring me so much that I am procrastinating on the few things I have to do there. There is so little to do, and I the little I do takes just a moment of my day, so I can't bother doing it at all.
I have two words.
SO WRONG.
My behaviour completely collides with my shining work values.

Now is not the time to do something drastic since I haven't got a clue what I'd like to do in stead of what I am doing now. I have a hunch I'd want to do something creative and I'd want to do it from home. And that job will probably not be "woman who paints".

I know I can't go on like this, I know I'm not staying at this job forever. I need to stay there a couple of more years though but I have to come up with ways to survive that period. I am also aware of the fact that it is unlikely that I will be headhunted so some action must be taken.

I am not sure what I will be doing but I have a couple of ideas.
I'll keep you posted.
