Excited, excited, excited!
I am about to enter a little house on Thorsgata, one of the oldest streets in Reykjavík.

When I was approached to do this article my truly amazing photographer friend sent me the contact sheet and I didn't really think twice. I was definetly writing this piece and I already had a lot of ideas. Only afterwards did I realize that I had never written an article or taken an interwiew before.
No matter.
What the heck.
I'll give it a go.
I had to see these beauties up close and I most definetly had to try them on (notice the plural).
This is the immediate response your system will have when seeing these hats.
You will feel inspired and daring.

I think it was the luxurious feeling of the hats that got me. The idea wasn't new but the craftmanship I had not previously seen.
Already on the plane to Iceland I was looking forward to seeing the pieces, touching them, trying them on. I just needed to see them and I wanted to play.

I know that during these "kreppa" times, luxury seems like a bad word.
Or does it?
Research shows that women dress better during a recession. (Where did I see this?)
Apparently, women seem to buy more expensive items during a recession, going after good quality and style. Oh, and there was also something about the human instincts in there too, something about a well groomed woman nailing a better provider - but I'm not selling that one more expensive than I got it (Icelandic saying, you get my drift).

Back to the luxury and the craftmanship.
Or should I say craftwomanship?
I am exited to meet Jódís, owner of the label Jungle Kween, one of the most interesting and adored people I have come across. You see, Jódís is beutiful, inside out. And her warmth and love of her craft trancends in her pieces wich in turn are extremely sexy.

Okay. What do we have here?
Dramatic names like "Concordia" (goddess of peace), "Petrova" and "Hedera Helix" (the latin name of Ivy) to playful "Shirley" (Temple), "Poodle" (as in the dog), "Dennis" (the menice), "Azafata" (the Spanish word for airline stewerdess) and "Onamanapea" (a word that is how it sounds, like "bang").
We have luxorious, trancending sexy.

Let me explain what we are talking about.
We are talking New Years Eve, red carpet, first date, airport, bedroom ...
We are talking; the innocent, the raunchy, the sophisticated, the movie star quality.
The charming, the creative, the playful ...

Think I'm going overboard?
But don't you just love them?
You'd have to have one of each.

Jungle Kween by Jódís are hand made accessories, so far available only in Gyllti Kötturinn in Reykjavík and through Marta in Copenhagen. Jódís makes exclusive pieces for brides by special order only.
