Sunday, February 29, 2004 I just realized that this day only comes once every 4 years. I am making this a special one. Kinda like my birthday. posted by Skotta | 12:42 PM | Hmmm... This man's beauty routine is so much longer than mine. Now I am at the point where Alice Cooper's Poison is being blasted in the apartment. I AM HUNGRY! Better go on and read MSN gossip on weather Renee deserves an Oscar. My man came out looking like Anime Boy, with new contacts. His blue eyes are now green. Cooooool. posted by Skotta | 12:31 PM | Easy Sunday morn.. I am on my way out, waiting for the man in the shower. This time it's not my boyfriend but one of my favorite girlfriends. Videonight didn't turn out so good last night apart from eating a whole lot of Icelandic chockolate and popcorn. Two really bad movies. I'm not even looking for the titles to post as a cover. One was called Super Sucker. The other I can't remember the name of. Both we turned off before mid film. We ended up watching Miss Congeniality, or as the Danes translate the title so elegantly "Agent Catwalk". I guess congeniality is not in the Danish dictionary. Not the first time I watch this film, not the second, and definetly not the last. Not because it is pure genious, but because Sandra Bullock always gets to play hot, smart chicks with minor social handicaps, fighting for a lost cause and always wins by not playing by the rules. Anyone seen 28 days? I love her. And in this movie she gets to kick the biggest, fattest, Everlast punching bag. By the way, do we do this in Iceland? Translate film titles? Now we are on our way out to get something to eat. First we are making ourselves look beautiful. Not that we have to... posted by Skotta | 11:56 AM | Saturday, February 28, 2004 Now Playing It is official. He's the man. Wyclef Jean: The Preacher's Son
This CD is totally one of the best. The guy is getting deeper while more relaxed. Music is tight, this shit works for me. In honor of Hreysikisa who introduced this CD to me soon after we met: Dusty in Memphis
A classic. No need to say more. Okay, and now for the latest concert I went to...
Can't honestly say I loved those guys. I liked their simple light show though... Here you have a couple of French guys who sing like girls. They make lounge music, and as so often with repetitive rythms and one liner texts, this totally works on a CD, does not work live. The part of the audience that so aromatically smoked joints during the concert, rocked smiling to the music. The rest of us were bored. Personally I found it a bit embarrassing. To their advance, I have to say, that they were better than the poor folks that warmed up for them. Those guys were so out of tune it wasn't funny. The band gets one point for a nice "Girls on Film" rip off that got me smiling but not enough to shake my otherwise amazing bootey. posted by Skotta | 9:32 PM | You all know Natalie Dee by now. Please check her out, she has daily drawings now and her page is awesome. I know she has faith in us, her admireres, that we can come up with out own simple stuff to post on our pages.. I still haven't figured out how to post my own drawings or pics on this page so Natalie, in the meantime, sometimes you just say things that express my world so well:
How the hell did I get there!!! Way too soon, way too soon! Loving it, but way too soon. I have a boyfriend who doesn't want to be a "normal" couple. Normal couples don't go to Italy for a weekend after knowing each other for a month. It turns out that there are a lot of things normal couples do that we are not doing. I love not being a normal couple but damn, it's stressful. posted by Skotta | 8:18 AM | Once again, long time, no post! Having a boyfriend is so much work, I have no time for idle past times like blogging. Shame. Now I am blogging on a Saturday morning, 8 AM. Making the time. Lets start with page changes. My guestbook is out due to pop up ads from Russian porn queens and teen porn websites. There is just something so scary about how they can do that. You log on and all this stuff just pops up on your page without you pushing a button. Now I even have a porn webside popping up as my start-up page!!! Oh yeah, thousands of great new links!!! NOT. Right now my man is sleeping in my bed. I had one of those "too tired to talk but talking anyway and only bullshit coming out" moments yesterday. I guess the guy is getting to know me. Brave man.
Hah! You didn't know they wrote that book, did you? Well, what else is new? I have calmed down, I feel, although I managed to brake my alarm clock the other day by slamming it down really hard on my night stand (and then going on to kicking some furniture) at 10:20 AM. Easy to know at what time you broke your alarm clock! I am actually proud of myself for letting the anger out instead of turning it into a chronic headache! I now visualize myself punching people if they fuck me over... yeah, I am turning into a real monster. I guess the new boyfriend brings this beautiful side out in me. Promising, ain't it? I guess I'll have to go jump him now. oh yeah, p.s. I applied for a job that I have high hopes of getting. This means fighting the union if they want me for the post. Cross fingers willyah? posted by Skotta | 7:55 AM | Thursday, February 19, 2004 My hotel was behind the trees there....
And by this sqare I sat and ate icecream while my boyfriend (note the change from "guy I am dating" to "boyfriend") found us the hotel. For those interested here is the hotel we stayed at. posted by Skotta | 9:12 PM | Tuesday, February 17, 2004 Bella Roma I am back from Rome. And in Rome, you do as the Romans do. I'll tell you one thing, the Romans are decadent people. Oh, my God, what an amazing trip. And what an amazing man I am dating at the moment!!!! Where shall I start? Loved it to pieces. Was sat down at Piazza de Popolo, at a really nice cafe, while my beau went off to get us a hotel. In the meantime, I ate the largest portion icecream with fruit. He came back just when I had started writing a story about a girl who falls in love, sets fire to her new man's apartment twice in the same day, gets swept off to Rome, sat down at a cafe and left there with two small bags ... never to see the man again. Story never written. The man, of course, being a real man, showed up and totally romantically took me to the nearest hotel. Art Deco style hotel with the most beautiful little bathroom with a tub. And a large wonderful bed. And the biggest breakfast buffet I have ever seen in my life. I will tell you, that some of the sweetest moments of this trip were over Swiss coconut yogurt, Italian ham, and the most amazing coffee I have ever tasted. And pie. And chockolate croissants filled with cream. And fruit. I love Rome. I visited the pope but he was doing laundry so he couldn't entertain that day. I saw his den though, cool place with lots of neatly trimmed bushes outside. In awe I admired the Vatican while trying to push away the thought of the Catholics robbing the poor for centuries. I had a lot of romantic moments with my amazing man. After all, this was Valentines day weekend. We came home very clean (after oh so many baths in the tub), very rested, and very happy. Well, I did. Some other noteworthy things about Rome: Italian men are beautiful and very manly. So are the women. Very manly indeed. I have not seen so many women looking like drag queens. They go all out with the colors and heels, the heavy sunglasses and the blow dried hairdo. Mozarella and tomatoes with bazil is not the same in your kitchen as it is at an Italian restaurant in Rome. The Italian kitchen might seem simple, hey, what's the deal with boiling some pasta, but you just don't get the difference unless you have eaten in Italy. And finally ... the cakes and icecream. Need I say more? Love my man for taking me there. Love being back with him because he is just as amazing in Copenhagen as he is in Rome. posted by Skotta | 7:39 AM | Sunday, February 08, 2004 Let me just blog a bit before ya'll think I'm dead. My face has recovered now, almost completely. I still have a slight bruise. Since last time blogging I have been all over the place. Among other things, I have: Been to a party with famous Danes (knowing they were famous but not recognizing a face). Been to the Danish Oscars and saw my new boyfriend get an award (totally proud of him!!!). Set fire to my new boyfriends apartment twice in the same day. Added 5 hours onto my work week. Gotten more migraine attacks this month than I have had for the past few months. Lost a lot of sleep and gone almost completely insane. Attended a workshop on Stress (it was the shit, you should have been there). Seen the play 10 Things I Hate About You performed by IB students and had my girl Nanna bring me to tears with her singing. Gone to a b-day party at McDonalds. Gone to Iceland for one day to hug my dad that has been in the hospital and have breakfast with my sis who just turned 40. Had a birthday and eaten pancakes. Been invited to Italy next weekend. All of this plus some private stuff that I am not blogging about out of consideration for my more sensitive readers. And the award for "person who saved my sanity for the past week" goes to: My friend who covered my bruise so skillfully two days in a row and made me look 18. His moment of glory was the eve I came home crying after having set fire to my new boyfriends apartment two times (... with the help of my boyfriend who though gets extra credit for putting out both fires). My friend gave me freshly baked muffins (who were trying to be low fat because they used skimmed milk while making them, otherwise laced with chockolate). He put me under the shower and told me to stay there for a while. He put drops in my eyes to hide how red they were from crying. He then made me smile and made me look beautiful and confident. So that's how last week has been. I just landed in Copenhagen again after a wonderful but way too short visit. And now I'm going out for brunch. posted by Skotta | 12:51 PM | |
