Tuesday, January 27, 2004 My face now has a brigt yellow/greenish color, the swelling has gone down a bit. At least I don't look like this anymore:
posted by Skotta | 7:02 PM | Saturday, January 24, 2004 Loa has entered the world of blogging. We salute you. And you are wickedly funny girrl. Mr. Wonderful has informed me that posting death threats against people, especially the president of the United States, is not included in the thing they call freedom of speech. I see his point. I therefor officially apologize to Mr. Bush for having asked on this blog if somebody couldn't kill him. I am good at making amends, ain't I? I'm nine-stepping the president. Katie, aren't you proud? Being in love makes one a softie. posted by Skotta | 10:19 PM | Oh my god, how I have missed you, dearest Blogger! Finally, finally, I'm in!!! It's my effin internet connection. Got the precious wireless internet connection and it simply isn't better than this! Needless to say, I am complaining. I can read the morning paper, and that is about it. I haven't been able to get bloggers home page on the screen until now, and I rarely get msn messenger to log me in. This pisses me off. Well, news. I went to the dentists. Very proud. Came out seeing double on one eye and half of my head so swollen that people stared at me on the streets and the taxis refused to take me. At first I thought this was funny but felt really uncomfortable seeing double. I thought it safest not to bike to work. So I walked, holding the bike with one hand, and my eye with the other so that I would not crash into things on the way. Very important day at work, 13 kids depended on me to go swimming that day. Got to work and had a meeting, then realized that I was ridiculous and went home. Stayed home for two days. You can't really dive after drowning kids when you see double. When I came home I called the wonderful man I am dating and told him I looked like the Elephant man. This being a brave man, very brave, he immediately decided to play hookie at work and then showed up with a lot of DVD's. By this time I had developed a nice color of blue. We went out to the Italians and got us some pizza, where I vividly made a gesture of punching my face, causing the non-Danish speaking part of the Italian crew to give my date the evil eye. On the way to the pizza place, my wonderful date had pulled me into a flower store where he bought me a couple of the most beautiful roses I have seen. I have to admit, my evil twin who lives inside me got such a kick out of standing there in the pizza place, in my white trash hood, all swollen in the face and holding the wrapped up flowers, buyin pizza with my man. I'm not sure my guy should go out there alone. After succsessful, but painful, attempts at the pizza (not very charming to eat pizza in front of a perfect man, with half of your face lame and therefor a lot of the pizza falling out), we watched ... Mary Poppins. I'm in love. posted by Skotta | 9:25 PM | Tuesday, January 20, 2004

Monday, January 19, 2004 I am being totally spoiled these days. Somebody is making me tea as we speak. Somebody that blows up helicopters and takes me out to eat three times in the same week. Yup, the girl is dating. This guy has more gadgets than a girl could dream of. And now I want all my dirty minded friends to retain from commenting. I am writing on a newer version of my own laptop. My laptop inspired this one. That makes mine cooler although this one is way cooler. I love that I am allowed to play with all this stuff. I arrived here after biking in the frost, my numb toes placed under a duve and the laptop on my lap (of course). I have to be a nerd when the words mobile internet turn me on. I think I found my soul mate, at least when it comes to love for gadgets ... I have a feeling this could turn into something good. Nice feeling. Not that it was the gadgets that got me interested in the guy in the first place... posted by Skotta | 10:00 PM | Thursday, January 15, 2004 New rascal visited today. He starts up on Wednesday. I was sent out the other day to look at this kid and the papers on him were horrible. He was described as a retarded monster child. Then I met him. I thought he was adorable and totally wanted him in our group. Better keep my co-workers busy. This one will certanly keep them on their toes. Hyperactive, retarded, and totally Asberger. He is eight and is totally smart. Has no pain threshold. That will be interesting to work with... "Sweetie, take your hand of the stove..." With this one and a litte mongol girl who will start up in the fall, we will have six kids. I am going out to get two more so we have a full house. Hmmm, what diagnosis should I bring into the group next time? You didn't know that I had a bit of a mad scientist in me, did you? posted by Skotta | 11:31 PM | Wednesday, January 14, 2004 Oh what a life. I must have one, now that I seem to busy to blog... I have been out and about and not slept much the last days. This is what happenes when you hang out with people who blow up helicopters. I notice that nobody has discovered that I have added some things to my page.. like COMMENTS. Either that or you guys aren't reading me these days. Oh, well. I have to take some stuff back I wrote about the passports. Apparently, the Danes refused to have the iris scanned but agreed to the fingerprint and a photo that can be somehow scanned as a match to the print. Now, the Yankies will not need to be fingerprinted to get into Denmark. I assume they need to have the print in their passport if they want to get back home. I see a lot of honeymooners with ink stained fingers in the future... I still have a toothache but am going to see the dentist next week. I am developing a strong right jaw as I can only chew on that side. Might also be loosing weight because of smaller meals due to tired right jaw. Other funny stuff: An Icelandic bomb squad saved Bush's ass in Iraq... with some Danes. Now, does anyone know about Icelandic bomb squads? Or our co-operation with Danes? Iceland doesn't have an army. It has an Amarican base. Only thing we are good at finding are people buried in snow. I'm not even telling what we think of the Danes. Bush couldn't think of planting these bombs, could he? Oh, well. I've been told that I am probably being watched by the FBI and the CIA after posting death wishes regarding Bush. No hard feelings, hey guys? Promise won't do it again. Big mouth, put my foot in it quite often. posted by Skotta | 11:32 PM | Thursday, January 08, 2004 I am totally terriffic today. Yes, it's a TTT day! It is freezing in my part of the world. I have a toothache. And I am angry at the US government. Not the first time I am angry at the US government. Not so much angry at the US as I am at the Danish government and at so many other governments in Europe for accepting the insane paranoia of the US. And I hate to say this, but I am so turned off travelling to the US right now I feel like never going there again. This is very sad. Sad that I can't get over my political views at the moment. Because I have friends in the States that I want to visit this year. Not that it is likely to happen now that I am not playing hotel manager next summer... You see, it's about my iris. I don't wan't the world to turn into a place where I have to be fingerprinted and my iris scanned for me to be able travel to see the people I love. The world is turning into such a place because of paranoia and fear. It is about my iris. Because it is not about my friends irises. They are welcome to visit me without being fingerprinted by my government. They will though probably at some point be fingerprinted by their own government and their irises scanned. Better be safe than sorry. The Brits are saying no to the air marshals though. They don't want an US air marshal on their planes unless they are allowed to have an air marshal on US planes. Having a guy with a gun on a plane is scary. A guy with a gun is scary, I don't care if he is a criminal or supposed to be protecting my security. Both are in a fucked up state of mind based on fear and can shoot at me if startled. Or if I just happen to piss them off. I will get over this as soon as I have gone to the dentist and am able to munch on my Icelandic candy and eat ice cream. But while I'm at it... there is still a 13 year old kid at Guatanamo Bay prison. Can anyone shoot that guy Bush? posted by Skotta | 11:10 PM | Wednesday, January 07, 2004 I am not blogging much these days, I am so terribly busy and popular. Well, kinda. I am recovering from Iceland. I think I am still on a high and I don't want to get down from it. Iceland rocks! Back here there are no news really. Exept for the stroke. My brain tumor girl got a stroke that evening before X-mas... the eve of the day we took the group to the movies to see Looney Tunes. I had noticed that she was heavy on one side, drooling, but just handed her a tissue and asked her if she had been to the dentist. She has not short term memory and she couldn't remember. During the very, very loud movie she complained and told that she was tired. We told her to shut up and watch the movie. She did. So now she is paralized on the right side and does everything with one hand. Smiling. I have to say, these kids are inspireing. Life is tough. posted by Skotta | 11:50 PM | ![]() Fun and spunky, you link, there for you are! This is all fun and games, and you do what you damned well please! What kind of blogger am I? brought to you by Quizilla posted by Skotta | 11:46 PM | Thursday, January 01, 2004 Movies watched this week: Black Orpheus
I saw this one on DVD. Really great movie that got the Yankies into Bossa Nova, based on the Greek myth. I reccommend watching it in Portugese, don't pick the English dub. Have to say, it's a child of it's time (won an Oscar in 1960, the Palm in Cannes in 1959), but nevertheless a classic and a must see. I loved it. Not the least the beautiful Portugese soccer player who played Orpheus. The soundtrack is great, the version I saw had the sound remastered. Score by Jobim and Luis Bonfa. Sound of Music
I cannot decide if this movie is masterpiece. Maybe because I have such a hard time watching it through. This might have something to do with the fact that I watched it so many times when writing a paper on it. Well the paper wasn't on the movie. We got to pick a movie character to write about for Personality Development class, when I was doing my masters. Most people picked a case study from a film like "My Left Foot", I picked fraulein Maria from Sound of Music. Got close to picking her again for the Abnormal Psych paper. This time I got to the part of the movie when Kaptain von Trapp and Maria are in the garden, the old man has dumped the baronet and he is now confessing his love to the young Maria. They burst out in song... and I cringe. Not the first time while watching the movie I am having a hard time but there I had to stop and miss out on the nuns sabotaging the Natzis cars. Soundtrack good ... in a different way. I have to say that I like most of the tracks as jazz standards better then sung by the corny voices of the von Trapps, not to say the least "Climb Every Mountain" that Shirley Bassey kind of handles better than Mother Superior. I hate Edelweiss. Love this movie, love it, love it. My future husband will be the man who recognizes the genious of this movie. I got an A for the paper, by the way. posted by Skotta | 10:39 PM | |
