I have no shame.

I am sitting here in my birthday suit, eating M&M's and blogging.
Which reminds me of this.

Truth is I got cought in a thunderstorm.
I love thunderstormes and I love getting wet.
This is just sounding all wrong.
I'll start over.

I might as well blog about why I haven't been blogging.
You see, I took on a secret trip to Iceland.
Oooops, not secret anymore.

I secretly stayed at my parents for a night and then I went there:

I had the most amazing trip.
We got the most beautiful weather and we found the most crappy looking jeep with the purest soul. We loved the weather and are basically in the process of buying the most expensive ugly old jeep you could dream of. We want it so that's what we're getting.

Other remarkable things that have happened in my life:
I got the letter from University yesterday.
Didn't get in.

So now I am looking for a job.
I have to tell you that my man took me to Tivoli and treated me to dinner in the Pirates Ship.
"What would you love to do?" he asked me. I then realized what an amazing situation I am in. If my dream is to work something that pays really badly, I can do that.
This is not because we are rich. We live modestly with the luxury of a very cheap apartment. I want to earn a bunch of money (I have to buy lingerie). But I have to say that it is a nice feeling to do that because you want to but not because you have to.

So. I am taking him up on the "challenge" and am going to find a job that I would love to do.

Now I just have to figure out what that might be.

Can't believe I got a Tag from God.
How cool is that?

Okay.
Muppets.
I love them.
I have probably linked to this just two posts ago, but if it makes me happy seeing it again it will probably make your day happy too. This and an ice-cream.
You can click on the image.

Okay.
More.
A friend told me she got ... over my post about the bowls. Remember the bowls? Sure you remember the bowls ...?
Anyway, it wasn't Ophra that presented the bowls, it was J Lo. She was giving them out to all her friends and they were a big thing among the celebs in the US.
And I promised to write that although Ophra dissed the whole Icelandic nation by running a bad feature on Icelandic women, she has made a huge difference to the life of millions of Americans.

So guys.
Don't wait so long to tell me off, use the Comments!
Post a comment anytime if you feel I am writing out of my arse.

By the way, I am making Transbuddha into a permanent link on my page. So every time you check if I have posted, and I haven't, you can go to Transbuddha and see whassup over there. They post at least 3 links daily.

Now for the news.
I have had a bad back. Bad back is better. Got x-raied this morning.
Bought AB a comb because I seem to have lost his while cleaning house yesterday.
Had to clean house yesterday, ignoring bad back, due to ants.

We got ants.
On our dining room table.
Not kidding.
I have a feeling it's these:

Acrobat Ants

It might be these though:

All I know that these ants had a party on my living room table the night of the left over pizza ...
And we are still fighting them two days later.
I am not used to insects, you all know that, so I immediately freaked when I saw the tabletop moving that morning. Bad back and all, mother-in-law visiting for the first time in 5 years that evening, the place had to be cleaned.

They stayed away for that evening but now they are back with a vengance.
And I itch.

I really want to post something serene tonight.

Truth is, we are having a heatwave over here. The heat is making my blood boil under my skin. On top of that I have had a sick day today and am going to work Friday earliest. What makes matters worse, AB is in a foul mood and has been for a while now.

We all get foul moods (says the princess of foul moods). Usually, when our foul moods get barfed over our loved ones, our loved ones just brush them off with a patient, even a "you're so cute when you're in a foul mood" attitude.

I can pull that off. I can pull off patient and I can pull off "you're so cute". This being when mind, body and spirit are in tact.
Right now my body is aching and no matter how much mind and spirit I apply to it (and pain killers) I am not pulling of the patient and cute.
Love him dearly but he is driving me insane to the point of "who will put me up for the night?"

Not really.
I am just hot and agitated.
Longing for Iceland and the mountains.
I want lie down on my stomach and drink water from a stream.

Please God, I know it's a lot to ask for ... but I am willing to compromize if you throw me a breeze.

According to Blogger this is my 350th post.

Nice to know they're counter is working. For a looooong time, no matter how much I posted, they counted 196 posts. I guess they just updated.

Anyway.
Here is a guy who also says "anyway". He is the next big thing in the funny guy business. Just signed with ACME. I have dated him for the past couple of hours ... since my own AB is once again, spending a beautiful Sunday unconcious. I think he has some kind of a sleep disease.
No worries, I had loads of fun on my date.

I love that word, ACME. Reminds me of Roadrunner. No, let me rephraise that, it reminds me of E. Coyote.

I love the Looney Tunes. They have a site called ACME Insider. Check it out.

And here is another "childrens" movie I am looking forward to seeing: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In Ireland, the original runs every Christmas Eve Day (I think, or was it Christmas Day?). Although it isn't one of the movies I grew up with it became a favorite once I saw it as a grown up. You all know how much I love Tim Burton so I just can't wait to see this film. Along with the Hitchikers Guide, if I ever get so lucky that they run that one in theaters in Denmark.

Whatever.

I hate doing this but ...
this site is too good to keep it too yourself:
here is where my bro has gotten some of his best links.
Now all of you go there and check out Spike Jonez Addidas commersial.

There are a number of other goodies on that page, like Bastardo video and Animal singing Ma-Nah-Mah-Na from the Muppet show (which got me going up and down in my seat).
The Bloodninja is hilarious!

I hope you have as much fun with this as I did.

And for those of you interested in the movies ... Alphamonkey, the editor-in-chief of Transbuddha, shares his opinions on this page.

Lovely. Made my day yesterday.
I want what they have on.
I want all my friends to have the same things on and learn the steps.
Awesome.

If this does't do it for you, try this. Tommy Seebach was called Popkongen. For those who don't know Danish it means The King of Pop.

Okay, okay, one more link.
Rize.

Okay.
Now to other things.

We just bought two of those:

If anyone sees two more then let us know.
For those who don't know - it's a chair called The Seven by the Danish designer Arne Jacobsen. My two chairs are from 1970 and 1976 and they are in mint condition.

My plan was to buy them in white. Then we saw these in teak and fell in love with them. We have way too much wood in our living room now, just about 5 different kind ... but funny enough it doesn't look like a mountain cabin yet.

Now where to go for a table like this?:

posted by Skotta | 9:08 PM |

Check this out.
I don't know how my bro does it, but I am getting my best links from him now.

I've been busy.
And now my dryer calls me with a beep. Finished! Dryer with brain.

Okay, dryer now attended to. Back to blogging.

Where was I?
Oh, yes, busy.

My family was here. It was great. I did more fun things in 4 days than I usually do in a year. My nefiew showed up with water from the tap. You don't believe how happy I was. Not kidding.
You see, it was Icelandic tap water. From Leifsgata. The best in the world.

I now posess tremendous amounts of Icelandic candy and a picture of myself and my nefiew screaming in the roller-coaster.
I also went to the Zoo.
I love the Zoo.
All the Zoo inhabitants have had babies (except for the polar bears that were put to sleep due to old age - they were the oldest polar bears in the world and had already lived 20 years longer than the ones in the wild).
I saw elefant babies and monkey babies and other type of monkey babies and some Danish babies.

Talking about babies ... I got a tomato seedling and some sunflower seeds. I put this in some soil, just for fun and didn't think much of it.
Whaddayah think?
They came up!
So now I'm a gardener.

In the spirit of that we decided to take part in the "working weekend" in our house. Danish co-ops very often have working weekends like this where everyone takes part in maintaining the house and garden. We never take part but pay our way out of it.
This time we showed up.
At least for going out to buy some beer for the others. And some brooms. But mostly stuff for our house.

Anyways. There was a barbecue in the evening.
It turns out we have the loveliest neighbours!
We had a very nice evening and I am totally fond of the people in my house now.

But back to the baby theme.
I just have to share this with you:

When me and AB decided to start checking into how one went about making babies I turned to my sis Gwelda and asked.
(We knew the general ... now don't read anything stupid into this).

She told me that the best thing to do was to find out when those days of the month were (the most fruitful ones) and that you did by taking your temperature every day for 2 months. It's been a while since she did this but she seemed to recall that the temperature should rise or fall slightly during those fruitful days. We figured that was where the "in heat" came from.

I immediately found this too bothersome and way too much work. AB kinda agreed with me but still found the idea of knowing when those magical days were very attractive.

Here is the point of the story.
Today I went to the pharmacy to buy Relpax and guess what I found!
Sticks to pee on! Just like the ones you use to find out you are prego! These just tell you when you're in heat!

I got so exited about this that I bought a pack. Not that I intend to use it any day soon. I just had to show AB.
He got a bit freaked when I showed him when he came home after work today.
But since he is my Amazing Boyfriend he just found it charming and cute (after he had asked me suspiciously "when did you buy this?").

Of course, when I checked it on the internet I found out it is a science. You can measure digitally if you are ovulating.
Naive me.

By the way, the Fertility Shop has the Ovusoft Ovulation Software on sale now.

I am not ready for this.
The pack of sticks to pee on are going somewhere way back in the medicine cabinet.

By the way, have I told you lately that I love my boyfriend?
