Wednesday, March 19, 2008 I promised to write a post to make sure that picture of the arguing couple went away. I have much to look forward to. Like being able to take a nap in the middle of the day tomorrow. Easter break. How lovely that sounds. Spending full 5 days in a row at home with Minilla. I know that by day 5 I will be more than ready to spend a day at work but today I can't bear another day apart. Shoot. Ended up chatting with my nefiew on msn. Topics: Moonies and their mass weddings. ![]() Labels: Moonies posted by Skotta | 11:18 PM |Sunday, March 09, 2008 I hate the idea of this happening. ![]() As in all relationships, me and AB don't always get along. This is rare and we hardly ever argue. I tell him off quite often since he can't do anything right and he graciously lets me know I am a bitch. I wouldn't call it arguing, just plain rudeness. Yesterday morning though, we managed to throw some real temper around. I ended up walking out of a supermarket with Minilla because AB had told me he would not speak to me for the rest of the day. I only walked out because he had the wallet. I took Minilla out on a bike ride and then he played in the garden while I did some gardening. Noon came, and so did the diarrhea. Minilla was sick. Then he started throwing up. AB was at work so I took care of the boy until AB returned just about 24 hours later. When AB arrived, having barely made it home from work after throwing up himself, I was a mess. Minilla had puked just about everywhere. No matter how I tried to cover things up with towels or sheets, his vomit went through everything. So today noon I had two rounds of vomit on me and a pile of laundry ready to get done. The whole house stank. I had not been able to do anything because every time I moved away from Minilla he started crying and calling me. He threw up on my laptop. I had let the poor thing watch a film and he had an explosion over my laptop. It was a splatter movie scene. Puke on the keyboard splashing up on the screen, in what seemed to be slow motion. I slept on towels. I have washed 5 machines, and two are waiting, one being my duvet, the other the sofa cover. The best part is that now the dryer has resigned, just to add a bit of flair to the household. My boy is strong so he has not lacked in appetite. He bravely ate breakfast and threw it all up again. He tried some more because he was starving. Threw up again. Fell asleep crying with exhaustion and hunger. The fact that he was able to eat did that I developed a technique rinsing the vomit from the things he vomited on (my bathrobe, my clothes etc.). I used this kind of a spatula to scrape the chunky bits from the drain so the water could go through. I love being a mom. So, who gets to go to work tomorrow? The guy who is asleep next to me with a basin by his head, or me? This really sucks because it is probably the worst time of the year for me to not show up at work. There is a lot of pressure on which will be over on Thursday, and the rest of the year will probably be slow. I am new so my work is being judged and observed quite closely. But I have my priorities straight. I am paid shit, thus, boyfriend with higher wages gets to go to work. I get to worry about my reputation since this is the third time I am off in the period of a month becuase of a sick boy. Oh no. Boyfriend seems to be getting ready to throw up. We are talking Litle Britain's Maggie here. The weird thing is that it is hard to stay angry at someone who is in such bad shape. I am in good shape, healthy as a horse, probably immune to just about everything after working in kindergarten. AB might still be pissed off at me but he rarely holds a grudge. I might have scored some points for buying him Faxe Kondi. ![]() Labels: Reality and Faxe Kondi posted by Skotta | 8:56 PM |Sunday, March 02, 2008 My local homegirl and I took our kids to the museum today. It turns out both of our kids are really creative and love painting. Minilla came home with some really good artwork ... for a guy who isn't two yet. We had a really, really nice day amongst som really ugly art and some not so ugly art. I think we both agree that our kids really did the best stuff shown at the museum today. I have otherwise wanted to make a note of something. I read in the paper this week about a kid who got a harder punishment than is normal, this being due to his skin color. If I was in certain states of America, this wouldn't have surprised me. And it really doesn't surprise me here either. What got under my skin was the comment from the judge who stated that it was nescesary to give harder sentences to foreigners because otherwise they wouldn't understand the severity of committing a crime. If I had not sat on a crowded bus I would have shouted obcenities outloud and probably done some spitting too. No need to get yourself committed for public display of feelings. Anyways. Fact. I live in a racistic country. You know that Sunday eve feeling, those of you keeping a job outside your homes (and as we all know by now, the jobs outside your homes don't count as real work), that feeling of not wanting to go to sleep because that means the weekend is over? I do. I had that tonight. So now, a kick ass link list (all the coolest Icelandic musicians on MySpace) sent to friend -, a post, a Post Secret read-, a check of the mailbox and the usual answering mails and sending friends and family interesting links-, a read through the online versions of the papers later, I can go to sleep feeling ready for Monday.
