Machines washed: 2
Feet done: 2
DVD's returned: 5

I am not even going to rewiew what I have been watching.

I wanted to say something, that's why I logged on.

Oh, yes, I want to spend New Yrs in Paris.

I now have:

Bronchitis

As of tomorrow I have been indoors for 2 weeks, apart from the occational trip to Blockbuster.
What to do when one has Bronchitis:

1. Feel sorry for oneself
2. Feel sorry for oneself
3. Feel sorry for oneself

Not being able to feel sorry for myself forever, I decided to become constructive. I am still indoors as the cold autumn wind makes me couch untill breathless.

So, list number two of what to do when one has Bronchitis:

1. Shower
2. Do the dishes
3. Eat cornflakes
4. Talk to girlfriend on the phone
5. Talk to boyfriend on the videophone. Cute boyfriend. Sent me an MMS of a rose bouquet.
6. Surf the internet
7. Surf the internet
8. Surf the internet
9. Fantazise about all the candy one can buy on www.nammi.is. My immediate needs were met
with iskr. 7.700 plus shipping.
10. Laundry
11. Talk to cool girlfriend in Berlin who is also sick.
12. Eat old dried fish (heh, not many of you can do that when sick at home!)
13. Watch my neighbour throw out pizza boxes and empty wine bottles.

Now what I really would like to have the energy to do (and is on my to do list):

1. Call the plumber
2. Call the Psyc department of the University
3. Get confirmation from some officials that my documents are legal documents.

Note that "going to work" is not on my list.

And what is realistic for me to do:

1. Try to figure out what to eat soon
2. Draw a picture on the big canvas my boyfriend just gave me
3. Scan in my drawings
4. Pedicure
5. See DVD

What I am going to do:

1. See DVD

Now don't be fooled. It looks innocent enough.
But this is:

Evil Tea Posted by Hello

Evil! Evil, I say!

AB will not admit to it, but this is indeed evil tea.
It burns, it burns.
No amount of honey will sweeten this tea.

So if anyone tells you to boil ginger in milk for an hour, tell them no way.

posted by Skotta | 11:01 PM |

Okay, so, it was a hoax.
Artsy hoax though.

I am waiting for this special brew to be brewed through.
AB (Amazing Boyfriend) came home with this brilliant tea idea.
Only, this tea takes an hour to make.
And his sweetheart girlfriend just thought the idea of the tea was brilliant and decided to make it. Without considering the time.
So now I am watching tea.

Now guess if this is true or false.
I am going to do some research on the web to see if Nigeria is fucking with me.

How abou them apples?

Posted by Hello

These are from the garden in Bornholm.
Aren't they lovely.
I have never seen so many appletrees, nor so loaded with apples, like there were in that garden. I brought a lot home with me, and have been freezing them down.

I have never been the houswifey type, and I don't know nothin' about no apples.
I have mashed them completely, or at least a great big part of the apples.

So now, my dear readers, I ask for your assistance.
I need ideas and receipes for apple food, preferably with mashed apples. Receipes gratefully accepted at skottustelpa@gmail.com.

I have been a very good girl today. I haven't left the house, much to my Amazing Boyfriends (from now on "AB" for short) relief. He is worse than my mother, I swear to God. And there is no candy in the house. This is just to proove my strength of character. I am a hero, I have no candy and have nevertheless stayed inside the whole day.

There is still time to go out...
There are carrots in the fridge, but why suffer?
Hey, just rememberred, I have Hagen Das icecream!!!!
Saved.

And on a last note:
For those of you who are sick and tired of Hotmail; please write me and I will send you an invite to join Gmail. No pop up ads, no junk mail, fast connection (you don't wait forever while the ads and banners are downloading). Need I say more?

Now, I have found out how to work this Hello program.
It surely helps having pneumonia.
Even though it is an atypical one.

A bit tired, a bit fucked up in the head...

I am awake.
Sane I am not.

I have something I explain to my sleeping boyfriend as "dumme tanker" (now try to explain things to a sleeping person).
Stupid Thoughts.

Ever had those?

Stupid thoughts are the ones that keep you awake at night.
Those are thoughts about all the things that make you feel shameful or guilty.
Or stressed.
They are the "What I Need To Do At Work" thoughts.
Or the "Stupid Things I Said At The Last Job Interwiew" thoughts.

They are what should be the "Can't Do A Thing About It Now" thoughts.
Or "I Don't Get Paid To Work At This Hour" thoughts.

In my case, they end up being "An Ideal Thing To Blog About" thoughts.
Creative little thing I am.

Oh, and a little thing more.

I have to share this little detail with you:
I have been sick since Wednesday, home in bed since Thursday.
There are only so many DVD's one can watch, and I am about to exhaust Blockbuster.
No wonder my head is straying.

I went to the doc today and guess what she told me?
I have lumonia.
I don't even know if I spell it right.

It turns out that I have something called Atypical Lumonia.
Funny how I always fit into the "Atypical" category.
For those who haven't followed this blog the past couple of years, I have "Atypical Migraine".

Atypical Lumonia gives you a little bit of fever, but not a constant one. You don't top high, you just get a little bit and it comes and it goes. Very confusing.
Then you caugh, just a little bit, and it hurts in the lungs.
Very easy to confuse with asthma.

So I got the three biggest pills I have ever seen, and am taking them over the next three days.
I'll keep you posted.

Still ill. Well sick.

Eating the cookies I made after arguing with my boyfriend last weekend.
I had fever.

I had fever, I argued, I escaped.
I baked.

After about 24 hours, some light insults (maybe not so light in his opinion), and the cookies (made with love and support from Duncan Hines), he called me and asked if we could talk.

Now, I want to make this clear now: It takes two to tango.

But regardless of who was wrong or who was right, my man showed up with 8 red roses.
How much do I love this man?

In a good relationship, both parties are able to take the first step towards making up.
This weekend, I was not able to, mostly due to my fever.
That is okay, I was the one to make the call last time we had a big row.

The roses are now on my table in "our" apartment.
You see, I am moving in with him...

Friday, September 17, 2004

Met up with a friend today who is moving out of the continent. Yet another fellow Globetrotter. His orphaned furniture are looking for a owner. There is a TV, a VCR, a sligtly used sofa that magically turns into a bed, a microwawe, and probably some more nice stuff. Those in DK needing some stuff, tag me and I'll get you in contact with your new sofa/bed, your new TV or VCR etc.

We had a nice brunch together at the new Laundromat Café in Elmegade (sorry about the Danish). The man is moving out of the continent to his bright future in Fargo, US.
Now this is why I love the internet: there is nevery really a goodbye, one is never further than an e-amil away. E-mails have always been easier for me to write than the "real" letters (the ones that involve going to the post office and licking glue tasting pices of paper).

I am sick at home, which is always a lovely reason to watch DVD's and/or blog. As I haven't been very active telling you what movies I have seen lately I'll let you in on what I saw today:

Now, bear in mind that I am sick. My man is at work. At Blockbuster I try to avoid all the films I really want to see, because I'd love to see them with him. Additionally I try to find "feel good movies", like the ones you'd see with a girlfriend or your mom.
If you don't have a mom like mine, there is. My mom is more into murder than laughs.

So I picked out
Mona Lisas Smile
and
Calendar Girls

Now, as I am ferwishly ill (might have just created a new word there), both movies made me cry.
I can't say I found either one of them a masterpiece though.

The other day I saw
Kill Bill Vol. 2

Now, there was a masterpiece.
Uma and her big ol' sword almost made me go to that Free of Charge Akido Lesson my boyfriend had found on the internet.
True to my nature, I ate steak instead.

Oh, and a girl always has to show and tell when she get's a new item of clothing:

Okay, not show, but I can tell you that I just got my first leather jacket. When I get my cool new videotelephone to connect with my computer, I might be able to show.
No, not rich, just living off my boyfriend.
I am a sad human being, I know.
Not true, I am actually a quite happy human being.
With a bad caugh.
And an amazing boyfriend who is on his way home with Indian food from my favorite restaurant.
Mulligatawny soup is probably really good for the lungs.
And he looked totally cute when he videophoned me to ask what I wanted to eat.
Love is lovely.

I have an hour to kill before going to work.
Don't ask.

On the other hand, since you did ask...

Let me tell you about the Snooze Syndrom.

The Snooze Syndrom is a condition currently harrassing people who have a snooze button on their alarm clocks. Classical signs of the Snooze Syndrom are stress and an irritable partner.
In the extreme, this condition can lead to maritial problems, such as the "we need to talk" situation.
The Snoozer has a well developed reflex in right arm that enables him to hit the snooze button in his sleep, or turn off the clock.

A "Snoozer" as I'd like to call them, is a person who loves that little extra nap one gets by sleeping after pusing the snooze button. The love of this little extra nap results in setting the alarm clock extreme early (to be able to snooze repeatedly), and ordering a wake up call close to the time when departure from bed cannot be avoided anymore. As most phone companies supply this service, and ... a snooze service, the result can be up to 5 snoozes each morning. Three times awakened by the clock, and in the extreme, two times by the phone.
When calculated that the average snooze is 10 minutes, this can result in as much as 50 minutes extra sleep.
Now we can all relate to the loveliness of allmost an hour extra.

When the "Snoozer" eventually jumps out of bed with considerable force, he then raids the apartment for the important things he needs to use for the day. 90% of the time, the "Snoozer" shows up late for work and important meetings.
Snoozers are so called B persons.

A relationship with a non-Snoozer can become disasterous, as the non-Snoozer has a hard time adjusting to the frequent beeps and rings of different clocks and bells. To the non-Snoozer, these sounds can be experienced as "disturbing", "discomforting", and in the extreme cases, "sleep depriving".

Case study:
A Snoozer and a non-Snoozer in a happy relationship. Snoozer needs to be at work at 6:50 am. Driving to work takes half an hour. Considerable amount of time is used calculating while setting the time.
Non-Snoozer is already sleep deprived and annoyed due to the previous day's "my arm was just too close to the clock" incident. Non-Snoozer has to be at work at 9 am, facing a 12 hour day, starting with being secretary at a meeting in a foreign language.
Snoozer sets the time.
From approx. 5 am there is no peace in the bedroom due to alarmclock and phone. Non-Snoozer deprived of 2 1/2 hour sleep, while Snoozer gets his 50 minutes extra.
Inevitable result: "We need to talk".
