Okay, who's tired of Flip Wilson?

Going back to work has been hard.
Most of the days I come home and go to bed at the same time as the baby (who is now turning into a bigger child way too fast).
On top of just the new way of all the new stuff to learn, my boy started a new day care so that has taken it's emotional toll.
Sometimes I wonder if I am the mother from hell for those women to deal with.
It is all in my head.

As an example of how tired I was at the open house they had (first time everyone shows up, it's a brand new place) could be that I stepped on and fell over a child, dropping my boy on the floor, both of them getting hurt badly, the child I tripped over bleeding from the mouth ... all the parents and grandmas in shock.

Our whole lives have been rearranged. We are constantly tired and there is nobody to take care of cleaning, shopping and laundry. We somehow manage food though.
Don't ask how.

Now it's been a month and we are managing okay.
AB has been brilliant.
We have a morning routine going which though still includes me shouting at least three times "GET UP NOW!" and thinking at least once to myself "This is grounds for divorce".

Biggest morning feat: Making Minillas oat meal porridge while blow drying my hair and packing my lunch. Will do anything do prevent that situation again.

It still amazes me that most families in the Western world go through a similar routine every morning. And they do so without uttering a complaint.
And on top of that, they have more kids!

One of my co-workers told me though that she had been a "screaming mom" until she decided to say "fuck it - so what, I'll be late". Since then everybody leaves the house smiling in the morning.
Having before that totally judged her for never ever showing up on time, she now totally is my hero for having happy kids, even though she totally has no control over them whatsoever. And yes, I say that without blushing. My son does not have a problem getting out of the house in the mornings.
Getting dressed on the other hand, still is a major problem.
He strongly believes that clothes will be the death of him.

Minilla is dealing with all of this very well apart from the fact that he has started hitting me in the face again, a behaviour that he has previously tried out but seemed to have grown out of.
I am the only one he is hitting.

I take it that it is a normal reaction to seeing your mother 40 hours less weekly.

And I'll finish this off with a bit of trivia:
If you Google the word secretary in Icelandic, you type in skrifstofumaưur wich is a working title of both men and women doing secretary work, while in fact, it means "office man".

And here is what you get when you Google "Office man":
