hmmm

Where to start ...

Well, apart from the fact that I am dreaming a hell of a lot of rubbish (like all people I have ever had issues with in my life) I am doing really well.

The best news in the world today are probably that David Oddson, our Icelandic curly prime minister, has left office.
They had cake.

He is now head of the Icelandic National Bank and a joke is going around that the last thing he did as prime minister was raising the bank manager wages by 32%.
Wouldn't put it past him to do that, nope, would not.

David Oddson is the only man I know of, apart from Saddan Hussein, who has won elections winning 99% of the votes.
Saddam in Iraq and David in his party in Iceland.

Not even Bush was bold enough to pull that one off. Even Bush knows that's obvious. And we all know that they make calenders with humorous Bush quotes ... not because they think that Bush is funny ... just not very bright.
(I have promised AB not to talk badly about Bush, can you notice? You see, I didn't say Bush was stupid. I said there were other that thought he wasn't very bright).

David Oddson I can diss.
He hasn't got any secret services out to get me.

So.
I guess that the members of the Icelandic right(est) wing party are now running around with the famous headless chicken disease.

(I know I've posted this picture before, I just like it so much)

Well, it is a good thing he is making space for others finally.
Letting go is a beautiful thing.

I normally don't play games on the computer and as you might have noticed I never post them. This is usually what I skip at Transbuddha.

I got a tip from the Queen and it is too good to let it pass. Let me quote her:

this webpage is for a free mag called good for nothing, it has this
cool game where you play a london pigeon doing what london pigeon does best,
poo on people. the more you poo on people and mags the more points you get.
It hilarious so check it out. oh and it has really cool wallpapers too
http://www.goodfornothingmag.com/
you get to the pigeon game by pressing -"the shit" oh and there is also
roadkill of the month.
anyway, youll love it

She was right.
I loved it.

The day before yesterday I went to the fruit market.
I didn't mean to carry the bags all the way home like I did ... (I am going to get into trouble for admitting this) .. I had meant to take the walk home in two trips.

Then the benches all had a ribbon on them, you know, the red and white ones they put on if they don't want you to trespass (or if they have just painted) so I couldn't really sit down.

I came home really tired and didn't do more that day.

So it was yesterday we went grocery shopping.
Our shopping chart made AB giggle and say "Welcome to Family Size".

We have never been practical shoppers, or rather, we have been practical shoppers because it has never paid off for us to buy a lot at a time. Food, especially milk, would go bad in our fridge.

Not having food in the house is no longer an option.
I cannot be hungry, and because I eat very little at a time, I get hungry a lot.
I now drink so much milk the doctor told me to cut down.
It is really hard so I am eating apricots ...

We now have a full fridge for the first time in our relationship. I have also stocked up on other stuff like healthy crackers. I have loads of greens and bananas and other things that make me feel full but not to the heartburn level.

Eating out is all of a sudden so complicated, where it used to be the easy solution.
All of a sudden I need to pick my ingrediences because I

a) am still figuring out how my taste has changed (old favorites are now unattractive food). Yesterday I bought some emergency food and bought two things I thought I could eat. Turned out I forced one down and threw away the other after two bites. That is happening a lot. Taking one bite and throwing the rest away.

b) I can't eat anything too spicy, too salty, or too sweet. Pre-pregnancy there was no such thing as too spicy, too salty, or too sweet.

I am not complaining. It just takes some time to figure out. I am loving the fact that I am so lucky to be disliking all the unhealty stuff. No cravings for candy or crisps/chips.

Pancakes in the middle of the night not included.

I am not worrying about pounding down rye crackers.

I just want to say hail to the Countess for giving me tips on making oat meal porridge while she lived with me. The woman had some vital tips that have made this otherwise unattractive meal into my morning favorite.
I now thank her in my mind every morning.

It is 3 AM and I am making pancakes.

No, I'm not mad.
Just pregnant.

I've got two pans going.
I just finished off my last pack of Aunt Jemima's pancake mix (one of two large ones I bough with my favorite girl in Purchase last february).

Now, you might ask, can she eat and blog at the same time?
Totally.

Gets me eating slower.
I have made myself a pancake mountain.
I thank God AB is not witnessing this.
Oh well, he'd think it was cute.

This is my body's revenge for not eating properly yesterday.
I became hungry a couple of times and dragged eating. You see, shrimp is bigger now so I seem to be able to do that. Wolf-hunger is on the decline.
Irregular small meals (or kind of not meals) apparently result in this:

Now I know.
Won't do it again.

I didn't intend to be blogging about my pregnancy but it seems to be occupying my mind quite a bit. Or my body, more like it. It seems like every day it pulls a new stunt on me and once I think I have regained balance it goes on and changes on me again. It also does stuff to my brain. I've been told I might as well forget about it because it is not going to get any less weird.

Quoting www.standupgirl.com:

By 8 weeks the embryo grows to 1/2 an inch, the major muscles system develops and she moves gracefully like a good swimmer although you can't feel it yet.

This tiny human is perfectly developed with long, tapering fingers, feet and toes and whose skin is almost transparent with a highway of delicate arteries and veins visible to the ends of the fingers.

By 10 weeks, 20 tiny baby teeth are forming in the gums, she squints, swallows, moves her tongue, and if you stroke her palm, will make a tight fist. The toes will develop in the next few days and brain waves can be measured and she will react to loud noises.

Did ya know?
By nine weeks the developing baby can hiccup and react to load noises.

All organs are supposed to be in place and now it basically just has to grow. And it has only been alive for 8 weeks (I'm 10 weeks prego).

I have gotten some comments on sharing this miracle with the world. There is still a chance I might have a miscarriage as they say the first three months are fragile.

Tough.
Life is fragile.
I am completely powerless over life and death, a baby can die although out of the womb. I don't believe that pain is reduce by keeping it to yourself.
Living in a reality where they tell me you're only as sick as your secrets ...
But hey, that's me!
Maybe I'm just not mature enough to understand.
I am too blown away by the fact that I have this growing inside of me not to share.

Too early?
How can you call this too early?
It's got arms!!
I feel like running around and shouting "I'VE GOT TWO HEARTS!!!"

So I do.

I had a bit of a fright last night so I am chilling for today.

I am going to spend my day at home, playing with the computer and watching DVD's. Maybe I'll draw something.

AB is going out for an hour and is now telling me we are going out horseback riding and then to folk dancing afterwards.

He makes me giggle.
He loves the idea of me taking it slowly and strokes my belly before he leaves the house.

I listen to Jolie Holland and tell myself the shrimp loves it.
I am though certain that the shrimp has a favorite song. It sings it in the shower. Those who haven't heard the original version with 5th Dimension probably know this track from Pall Oskar's (IS artist) CD Stereo.
That CD also contains this gold nugget that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978.

My young neighbours have female visitors so I am wearing headphones. The girl(s) have this ugly giggle that is very loud. They seem to be running around the apartment. Maybe it's forplay?
I am sorry not to be able to enjoy other people having fun ... and it is daytime so I can't call them upstairs and tell them to shut the f...ck up.

Now I'm listening to Tom Jones and Gladys Knight sing Guilty.
No relevance whatsoever, just love Gladys and am going to listen to her sing Licence to Kill in a few moments.

I make kick ass playlists.

My friends in Texas (who gave me the "Don't mess with Texas" cup) got married yesterday in a beautiful place near Austin. I was supposed to be there and be her bridesmaid. I am so sorry I couldn't make it, I would have loved to be there. I have now managed to fail two brides by not showing up on their wedding day. I have, for both of them, tried to be there any other way I possibly could.

I can't wait to call the newlyweds today and wish them all the happiness in the world. It will be a message on their machine when they get back.

And now my mom should be up so I am going to call her.

Los Friggadellos are getting cold on the table.

I am getting nauseous from hunger.
Distracting myself now with this post.

Great news of the day is that AB managed to start this car:

The car's name is Eydis (pronounced Oedis in Danish).
Our other cars are called Aase (pronounced Oohse), and Aegir (pronounced Aegir).

God only knows what we will name our child.

Hmmm.

Now what can I tell you?
Not much happens in the world of the unemployed.
Today I found out that Carl Nielsen's string quartet in F major, op. 44, is out of print. This I know because I got his string quartet in G minor, op. 13. for Virtuosa whom is visiting me tomorrow.

Or rather, she is making a stop over for a few hours and I am going to savour every minute of it. We haven't seen each other in what seems to be ages so I can't wait.

Today I also found out that I might desire this phone:

It is Sony's new 3G phone (K608i). This is the worlds smallest 3G phone.
Yeah, I might want that phone.

Yesterday I went for my first pregnancy check up. Everything was fine. I am once again referred to the hospital so I expect them to call me again soon and give me a date.

I got some insiders info last night on the midwife who has delivered the royal family. I might meet her this weekend and I am going to ask her to squeeze me in, as the heir to the crown will be born by April (Mary is due in 6 weeks). You bet yah I'm getting my shrimp some royal treatment if I can pull it off.
Wish me luck.

Yeah, Mary. I told AB a while ago that Mary was getting one, and Britney was getting one, so I wanted one too.
There's AB for you.

Expect more blogging.

I am in this very special situation of not being able to sleep for that long at a time. I can't sleep on my stomach because of a big muscle I have ... it's called a fibroid. Look it up on Google if you want to know about it.
My own fibroid I am not going to blog about.

The only thing I will tell you about it is that it is the main cause of me and AB deciding that I am not going to work for at least the first 5 months and that I will most likely lie down for the last month of my pregnancy.

I am more than fine with that.
I actually love the idea.

So.
I have slept on my stomach all my life and now have to sleep on my side or back. It leaves my body soar so I wake up ... and blog!

I have had the pleasure of many visitors and visiting a bit.

My bro was here the other day and he spent an afternoon with me. We had such a nice day. As usually we talked and talked and as usually I was inspired by him.
I am so lucky with siblings. They all have atributes that I would love to posess. I look up to them and admire them, and they inspire me to strive for being a better person. There are six of them so that can be a bit to live up to ... but hey, practice makes perfect!

Yesterday I had two visitors that are on their way to Spain as we speak. One of them I might not see again. I hope I will but I don't know.
Dearest, I know you read me. It has been such a pleasure knowing you. I wish you all the best in the world and lots and lots of happy days.

The other one visiting will come back. Not quite sure of the date but I am babysitting her fish after the 7th if she isn't back by then.

Then I went visiting people!
I spent time with my friend and her little boy and ate her amazing salat!
I love that little boy. He is one of the kids that got my hormones ready for my shrimp. I haven't seen them for a while and he gave me the longest, tightest hug. Oh the beauty of babies!

Then last, but not least, I hung out with My Lady Grace. I am not sure how graceful she felt, she kept telling me she feels sixteen ...

I am loving my days.

Today I am going to hang out at home, maybe meet up with another friend whom I haven't seen in the longest time. But most of all I am going to hang out with AB who is enjoying a day off.
That is the best way in the whole world to spend my day.

And Then They Were Three

Thank you, thank you my dearest fans.
I apologize profoundly for having neglected you for two weeks.

You see, I have been on a vacation in Bornholm (little island out in what the Danes call Lars Tundskids Mark). In the little house we visit annually ... well, I got to go with last year also ... there is no internet.

But there was a mouse we saved and some insects that crowled into my electric toothbrush. I have spent two weeks doing nothing. I made organic apple moose. And ate and slept. On my back because I can't sleep on my stomach. I'll get to that later.

Remeber that weekend me and AB went on that secret trip to Iceland and spent a night under the glacier?
Sure you do.

Well.
This was the weekend we decided to drop the birth control.

Bullseye!

Some powerful glacier!!
Well, or powerful AB ...

I am now experiencing my 9th week as a host to this little shrimp the books tell us have formed fingers now.
Life as a host is very very special.
This situation can be described as consisting of three types of "being": Being hungry, being tired, and being peeing.
The three need to be attended to immediately and do collide at times. Although I have to say that "peeing" seems to be able to interrupt anything at any time.

We are soooo happy.
AB is the proudest man on Earth right now.

Danish doctors had of course told me that it would be difficult for me to get pregnant so when I took the first test (peeing on stick, the start of many a peeing sessions more) I didn't believe it.
AB had read the instructions so he was convinced from the start and begun playing with names right away. I was more like: "hey, that other line is very vague ..." After a second test and then another one at the doctors there was no doubt. I don't think I believed it though until after the scanning.
Oh, yeah, I have a picture already.

Tell you more about that later as it hangs together with the not being to able to lie on my stomach thing.
