Thursday, August 25, 2005 Same as Halli. posted by Skotta | 9:26 PM | Tuesday, August 23, 2005 You're right, I'm back. Although my trip to Iceland became a few days longer than planned because of this: ![]() Three people survived the crash, one of them being the driver: AB. Minor injuries, everyone is fine now. So, we seem to be in the business of receiving miracles this week. I only have 3 days left at work and then I have a vacation. How long my vacation will be, nobody knows. You see, I don't have a job. First time in my life I quit a job without having a new one in line (or am going to school). Yeah, it is bothering me a bit. But hey, it's a new experience ... it'll be good for me. It is not as if I need the money! Whoahahahahahahaha Just kidding. But for those of you worrying (as this is so out of character for the safety addict I am), I am not in any need. It is a weird thing, just leaning back, saying "Hey, I'll wait until I am back from my two week vacation to Bornholm". Not because I want to but because I can. I'll probably be going through the ads every day like I am now. Old habits are hard to break. Whatever. Moving my mother went fine. It went more than fine, it was a feat. After over 55 years of living together, 35 in the house they moved from .. after two days you hardly saw a box. Everything was packed out. Little soft stickers under all the furniture so they wouldn't scratch the new floor. Lovely. They have a huge TV in the living room. That's the small one. The big one is in the bedroom, in front of their Tempur beds. So my parents can sit there with the remotes to the beds and the remote to the TV ... Can I tell you more? Sure can. But I'll let this do for now. posted by Skotta | 7:02 PM | Thursday, August 11, 2005 I'm off to Iceland for the weekend. posted by Skotta | 6:12 PM | Tuesday, August 09, 2005 An Ode To A Dishwasher I want one.

Friday, August 05, 2005 I am SO going to see this movie! posted by Skotta | 1:19 AM | I have just decided that I am going to spend my whole weekend pretending to be a mixture of Ava Gardner and Kathrine Hepburn. ![]() ![]() You see, I just watched The Aviator and got inspired. I have also watched Lemony Snicket's and Oceans 12. I would love to say that this was because I found it a perfectly acceptable way of spending a Thursday. That would probably be true if it weren't for the fact that I have had one of my weirdest day's in a while. I woke up at 9, a half an hour before I had to be at work. Such is the luxury of working a 10 minute bike ride away. I was feeling weird but thought I was just unusually sleepy. I turned out that I was just unusually sick. The left side of my face was all weird like when you've been at the dentists. I spoke funny and didn't really understand my collegues. I told them I'd just take a pill and I'd be back on my feet in 20 minutes. Well, 20 minutes passed and I was still very sick. I told them I'd have to get home and then I biked away. Probably not so smart to bike home but hey, impared judgement is one of the symptoms of my migraines. Just grateful that I didn't decide to start attending to the pretty little infants and their parents with my impaired brain function. Parents would probably not be impressed with my speach impairment on top of my thick accent. I probably would have drooled at them with the needles and pins in my tounge. When I came home I managed to worry my boyfriend enough with the looks of me and incoherency for him to tell me to call him at any time and he'd come home and be there for me. I took another pill and when the pain started to cease I was knocked out. Brain does that after being in a lot of pain, it gets exhausted. I was awaken by the phone an hour or so later. Usually, after two pills and sleep I should have been fine. I wasn't. I felt like I had been punched really hard many times on the my left eye and the left side of my head. Passed out again. This time for 3 more hours. Woke up feeling better but still unable to move. Then I forced myself to move again. The Big Hunger had arrived. You just don't mess with The Big Hunger. So out I went and bought a lot of food and rented 3 movies. Food is all eaten now. That was my interesting day. I am going to a wedding this weekend and I am going to need a shal for my shoulders. Someone told me at the last wedding I attended that not one woman in the church rememberred that tradition. I don't know the people so well at this wedding so I am not taking my chances with the general allowance of insulting the church. I say the church because I have a deal with God. He doesn't mind me wearing no shal at all. In fact, God doesn't care if I go naked. Not that I'd do that. Those are, after all, AB's friends getting married. They might not be as relaxed as God when it comes to being nude at their wedding. And whoda thought? You can find it on Google! Still, I'd rather go as Ava or Kathrine. posted by Skotta | 12:06 AM | Wednesday, August 03, 2005 When I score I score good. My film maker boyfriend is taking me to the movies. Finally. To see a 12 minute short film. Can you belive this? (Anyone copping a resentment here?) I ask him to the movies all the time (as in asking, not going). Last time to see Kung Fu Hustle. He said yes but I ended up seeing the movie on my own. He has worked on world famous films but does not know who John Waters is. My man is a nerd. I am a different kind of a nerd. The kind who knows who John Waters is. Just realized that one. I do get to see a lot of good movies for free because of the film maker thing. So I'm not complaining. So what if I am watching Ong Bak alone (and other gems of film making history). I am excited about those 12 minutes. I wonder if there'll be popcorn? Whatever. I'm fine. Not "Fucked up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotional" fine. Just fine. Tired because Yuka's favotite grandma died and she was a bit out of shape today. I worked extra. Bought nice underware on a 60% discount to celebrate myself. posted by Skotta | 6:00 PM | |
